Music artists in Nigeria have shown admiration to the ambition of Lagos State government to explore the potentials of the entertainment industry as a springboard to promote tourism and open the state for prosperous investment in the sector.
The admiration was revealed at the 4th edition of Olamide’s Concert tagged ‘Olamide Live in Lagos’ held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere on Sunday, 17th December, 2017.
Speaking at the show, the YBNL Boss, Olamide Adedeji of the disclosed that: ‘’the story about the strength of Lagos is incomplete without entertainment and the State government under His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has been an inspiration to the success of the industry in Nigeria in just over two years’’.
The ace rapper stated that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has been an apostle of creativity and ingenuity adding that many music artists were able to find their feet in the industry because of the ambience of positivity created over the years by the state government.
The Olamide Live in Concert, the forth in the series and the first to be held in a public space, was attended by over 15,000 teeming audience of diverse social groups and age grade. While appreciating the State government for supporting his concert, the King of the Street Boys (Olamide) thrilled his teeming supporters to unrivalled performance with his lyrics and stage prowess.
Many music Artists present at the concert did not hide their admiration for the State government, attributing the success of the music concert and the prominence the entertainment business enjoys in recent years to the strategic initiatives of Lagos State government.
The State executes these initiatives with institutional support such as provision of adequate security, emergency services, sanitation and efficient traffic management to any private sponsored creative and tourism related ideas.
While expressing their enthusiasm, the delightful Lagosians at the concert applauded the State government for promoting the event which has projected the city as a haven of hospitality.
Among the renowned Artists that graced the stage at the show include, Small Doctor, Tiwa Savage, Phyno, Reminiscence, Lil Kesh, Woli Arole, Yomi SARS, Daddy Showki, Olu Maintain, Klever J, Solid Star, Terry G and host of others.
The show was a rhapsody of funfair and entertainment as music enthusiasts and fun seekers across the country and beyond were thrilled with spectacular music of different genres.
The concert was attended by personalities from all strata of the society which include, Aramide Giwanson, Special Adviser to the Governor on Arts and Culture, Rotimi Ogunleye, Commissioner for Commerce Industry and Cooperative, Olufemi Onanuga, Special Adviser, Primary Health Care, Yetunde Onabule, Special Adviser, Urban Development, Deji Tinubu, Special Adviser, Sports Commission. Also in attendance was Fola Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Habib Haruna, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Lagos State.
