Vice president Yemi Osinbajo and the vice presidential candidate for PDP have cast their votes in Lagos and Anambra respectively.
After experiencing a little delay Osinbajo and his wife voted at the Victoria Garden City polling unit in Lagos.
After voting spokesperson for the VP, Laolu Akande tweeted via his handle: “VP Osinbajo & his wife have voted in the VGC polling unit 033 in Lagos. He expressed delight with the turnout of voters, sharing wishes of a peaceful and successful voting conduct across the country.”
Meanwhile, vice-presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, and his wife Margaret have cast their votes in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
Obi cast his vote at exactly 8:55am at his Amatutu Village polling unit, Agulu ward 2, in Anaocha Local Government area of Anambra State.
Speaking to the media after voting, Obi said it was too early to confirm that the process was going smoothly, but promised to confirm so later in the day after reaching out to voters in other parts of the country.
Obi said that security agents Friday night went after some known PDP stalwarts in the state.
He told journalists that he was also harassed by security agents but refused to say more about it.
“The answer to your question is capital yes. Most of our members, including myself were harassed by security agents last night,” Obi said.
