Nigerians applying for a UK visa in Lagos at the two centres of Victoria Island and Ikeja, will benefit from digital improvements to the UK visa application process from December 5, 2016, the British High Commission has said in a statement.
This was contained in a statement, who is the press and public affairs officer at the British high commission in Abuja.
“From 5 December 2016 customers applying for a UK visa in Lagos ,Victoria Island and Ikeja, Nigeria will benefit from digital improvements to the UK visa application process,” the High Commission said in a statement released at the weekend by Joe Abuku .
“TLSContact (responsible for UK Visa Application Centres in Nigeria) will scan your supporting documents whilst you’re at the visa application centre, and then return your original documents to you.”
He British High Commission said the electronic documents will be returned to “UKVI,” with applicants’ passports and application forms, and visa officers will consider the applications in the usual way.
In order to avoid delays in the visa application centre, the British high commission recommends that, where possible all documents should be of A4 size, and that applicants should photocopy any documents that are smaller or larger than A4 onto A4 sized paper.
They have also been advised to remove any clips or pins from documents before submitting them and that if documents are torn, crumpled or heavily creased, they should be photocopied by visa applicants onto A4 sized paper before they are finally submitted.
This is because defaced documents “can’t be scanned in this condition,” the High Commission explained in the statement.
