Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is billed to deliver the keynote address at the 2018 edition of the Coworking Conference 2018, an annual gathering of innovators, entrepreneurs and investors, organised by Venia Business Hub, which holds on Thursday 26th July 2018 at IMAX Filmhouse, Lekki, Lagos.

Kola Oyeneyin, CEO, Venia Business Hub and Creator, Coworking Conference Nigeria said in addition to delivering the keynote address, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo will be interacting with entrepreneurs, who are building and shaping Nigeria through their various ideas and platforms.

Earlier in the year, the Professor Yemi Osinbajo went on a tour of Hubs, Coworking Spaces and Entrepreneurs who are creating amazing products and services, transforming the entire landscape of Nigeria; from Technology to Agriculture, Media to Insurance. Most of these businesses have traced their origin to one Coworking space/Hub or another.

“One of the places he visited was our “Featured Innovator” of CWC 2018, Iyin Aboyeji’s Flutterwave as a startup took off from Venia Hub, and has now gone on to become arguably the biggest success stories of Africa’s Fintech Industry. This is what this conference is all about, and we are glad that the Vice President whose mantra since taken office has been “nation building through innovation”, will be “collaborating” with entrepreneurs in the true spirit of Coworking”, explained Oyeneyin.

Oyeneyin further explained that the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Nigeria has seen a fundamental shift since the emergence of Coworking and Tech Hubs, with many successful entrepreneurs tracing their startup story and locations to Coworking spaces across Nigeria – including Eskimi, Accounteer, Taxify, Branch Int’l and AutoGenius, amongst others.

“We are happy to see various stakeholders embracing Coworking and leveraging on its possibilities to drive entrepreneurship. Lagos State’s LagosInnovates is one such example of the response to Coworking Conference and we expect to see much more exciting collaborations and initiatives by various ecosystem enablers” he added.

Since inception in 2011, the Coworking movement has continued to gain momentum, with a surge in the rise of Coworking spaces across the country and with the Government’s emphasis on driving technology and innovation as a means of driving economic growth, as evidenced by the recent working visits by Professor Yemi Osinbajo to various Coworking Hubs.

The conference sponsored by Access bank will see the vice president join other speakers like Dr. Omobola Johnson – Partner at TLCom and former Honourable Minister of Communication Technology; Iyin Aboyeji of Flutterwave – Africa’s leading payment platform; Kola Aina – Chairman, Ventures Park, and Ola Brown of Flying Doctors Nigeria and Greentree Investments, who among other things, speak on the growth and development of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The conference is free for pre-qualified as limited seats are available. Log on to www.coworkingng.co to register, get involved and secure your seat; and follow the conversation across social media via @Coworkingng and #CoworkAndBuild
